"Andersen said she wanted to return in some respects to her origins, which she did in terms of both silhouette and sumptuousness. However her earliest basketball/fur/lace equation was succeeded by more various elements, less rigidly applied. Shot in the domed dining space of chef Rasmus Munk’s technologically decadent restaurant Alchemist, Andersen’s collection blends Aloha shirts, mesh baseball shirts, zebra-stripe jacquard, check flannel, one regally two-toned fur piece, and garment dyed jersey and denim." - Vogue Runway

ASTRID ANDERSEN'S SS19 COLLECTION IS INSPIRED BY DANISH HERITAGE
A modern take on traditional streetwear.
Astrid Andersen‘s Spring/Summer 2019 collection was presented in a unique display for Copenhagen Fashion Week. A cast of models were staged in a home setting referencing the idea of family in Danish heritage.
We see 3M detailing on shiny, silver tracksuits and tops. Hoodies and button-up shirts are styled minimally to appear fresh and modern. The models range in age, body shape and gender showing that the clothing is truly a unisex offering. The location of the clothing was special as it was chosen to celebrate Danish architect Verner Panton. His geometric furniture and uncanny ability to design were channeled through the selection of each of the SS19 silhouettes.
